The Development of Human Life during the Three Stages of Pregnancy Specific Purpose Statement: After listening to my speech, my audience will be informed about the three stages of pregnancy which includes the first, second and third trimester. Introduction: I. Has any of you experienced or know somebody who has experienced the stages of pregnancy? II. Pregnancy is the most beautiful phase of life. You can feel an abstract feeling of motherhood. The feeling of new life growing inside of you is very exciting. You are filled with anxious thoughts about the known and unknown pregnancy facts (slideshare.net). III. Although I have never physically experienced the stages of pregnancy, just learning and hearing about it really fascinates me. IV. The stages of pregnancy are divided into three trimesters; a typical pregnancy lasts 40 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP) to the birth of the baby. It is divided into three stages, called trimesters: first trimester, second trimester, and third trimester. Transition: Let’s have a look at these stages. Body: I. Trimester 1: Starts at 0-9 weeks (0-3 months) A. Germinal Period (1-2 weeks) 1. Think of this stage as the baby trying to find a place to live, which is in the uterine wall. 2.
